Trademark is a vital intangible asset that distinguishes your brand, products, or services from others in the marketplace. It can include words, names, symbols, logos, designs, or combinations thereof. Registering a trademark not only gives your business exclusive legal rights over its identity but also strengthens brand recognition, customer loyalty, and business value.

Trademark Registration Process

At Shiromani Associates, our team of trademark professionals streamlines the entire process for you—from search to certification.

Step 1: Trademark Search

Before filing, a thorough trademark search is conducted to check for existing trademarks in the relevant classes. This helps avoid potential objections or rejections due to similarities with registered marks.

Step 2: Application Preparation (Form TM-1)

Our experienced trademark attorneys will:

  • Draft your application

  • Classify the goods/services under the correct trademark class

  • Submit the application using Form TM-1 or other relevant forms depending on the nature of the trademark

Step 3: Filing & Processing

Once filed, the application is reviewed by the Trademark Registry:

  • If no objections are found, the mark is published in the Trademark Journal

  • If objections are raised, a reply must be filed within 30 days

  • After clearance, the trademark proceeds to registration and the Trademark Certificate is issued

Documents Required for Trademark Registration

  • Applicant’s name, address, and nationality

  • Type of applicant (Individual, Firm, Company, etc.)

  • Copy of the logo (if applicable)

  • Description of goods/services
